BELLINGHAM — The Shrimp Shack restaurant is making preparations to close by offering special menu prices for the final days of business.

The restaurant at 1200 Cornwall Ave. was put up for sale earlier this year, but a buyer has not come forward, said co-owner Sarah James. If a buyer isn’t found, the restaurant is scheduled to close for good at the end of business hours on Saturday, May 24.

As a way of saying goodbye to customers, Shrimp Shack is offering a $5 special for 4-piece fish and chips and a $10.99 all-you-can-eat option for some of the fish items on the menu.

“We want to thank all our loyal customers and encourage anyone that has not been to the Shrimp Shack to come in and enjoy what Bellinghamsters have enjoyed for over 40 years,” James said in an email.

In addition to this Friday and Saturday, the restaurant will be in operation next week Tuesday through Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
