BELLINGHAM - A woman was arrested after she broke into her ex-boyfriend's apartment, punched a woman in the face and then crashed her car into a utility pole as she drove off, police said.

Brandyn Marie Fisher, 28, was booked into jail Tuesday, May 13, on suspicion of first-degree burglary and driving under the influence.

Fisher showed up to her ex-boyfriend's home on Newell Street around 4:30 Tuesday morning. Fisher was intoxicated at the time, police said.

Her ex-boyfriend and another woman at the apartment were trying to get Fisher to leave when Fisher punched the woman in the face, police said.

After Fisher left the apartment, she sped away in her Toyota 4Runner and crashed it into a utility pole. She was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
