Sehome shoots consistent scores to win at North Bellingham

Sehome's boys' golf team shot a combined score of 448 to take a win Tuesday, May 13, at North Bellingham Golf Course over Lynden Christian, Squalicum, Meridian, Anacortes and Blaine.

Sehome's top golfer, Thomas Mankle, shot a 79. The Mariners' fifth golfer, Jonny Baker, was just 20 points behind at 99.

"Mankle, a sophomore, shot a personal best," Sehome coach Steve Gorski said in a phone interview. "I brought up a freshman, Brady McDonnell and he also had a personal best with an 86."

Medalist Lincoln Olson led second-place Lynden Christian with a 73. Tavo O'Connell's 82 led Squalicum to third place.

"Lincoln was awesome; he played steady throughout the round," Gorski said. "He's a great ball-striker and played a great round of golf."

Meridian took fourth, led by Nick Rautenberg's 80. Anacortes was fifth and Blaine's Devan Boucher led his team with an 82.
