Rave: Misses video store

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 12, 2014

I deeply regret the closing of Trek Video in the Fairhaven business district. Losing this handy service represents personal and commercial losses for where we live.

All of us need to recognize the full price of how we trade. Yes, using remote sellers for films and mail orders for books can save us a few immediate dollars. But when it ends a friendly local business, we lose convenience, human connection, and direct services. We just lost one valuable link in what makes Fairhaven a special place to live and shop.

Trek's long-time owner, always helpful, has been a pleasure to know. We will miss him and his services for a long time.
