Lummi's Medina wins four events at districts


Lummi's Enrique Medina won four events and led the boys' track and field team to a third-place finish at the 1B Northwest District meet on Friday, May 9, at Lummi High School.

Medina won the 400 with a time of 54.96 seconds and the 800 with a 2:07.48. In the 1,600 he took first with a 4:54.04. He rounded out his sweep with an 11:05.12 in the 3,200.

Deion Hoskins was the Blackhawks' other winner, taking first in the shot put with a 43-foot, 8-inch throw.

Mount Vernon Christian finished first at the meet with 95 points, followed by Grace Academy with 81. Lummi took third with 77 points.
