Mack Strong coming to speak at Lynden Christian

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 7, 2014

Mack Strong, the long-time Seattle Seahawks fullback, will visit Lynden Christian High School at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, to speak to the students about his foundation, Mack Strong TEAM-WORKS.

According to the foundations website, http://teamworksfoundation.org/, the goal is to "provide holistic, compassionate and culturally responsive mentoring that empowers disadvantaged youth and their families from indigenous, minority and impoverished communities to develop strong minds, strong bodies and strong character."

Strong signed with the Seahawks in 1994 after going undrafted out of the University of Georgia. The fullback went on to play the entirety of his 15-year career in Seattle, making two Pro Bowls in the process, finally retiring in 2007, just two years after the Seahawks made their first appearance in Super Bowl.

All who are interested in coming to the event are welcomed.
