Lyncs lose by walk-off homer


A walk-off home run doomed Lynden Christian's softball team in a 4-3 Northwest Conference loss to Burlington-Edison on Wednesday, May 7, at Burlington-Edison.

The Lyncs (8-8, 2-7 NWC) opened with three unanswered runs in four innings, but Burlington-Edison scored the final four runs to win.

"We definitely struggled offensively against a great pitcher," LC coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. "Our stellar defense kept us in the ball game."

Kasey Luna pitched seven innings for the Lyncs and struck out one.

"She pitched one heck of a ball game to give us a chance," Moorlag said.

LC plays Meridian on Thursday, May 8, at home.
