Mariners show power in win

Sehome's softball team hit two home runs and the Mariners cruised to a 16-5 Northwest Conference win over Meridian on Wednesday, May 7, at Meridian.

Gabby Gorosave went 3 for 4 with two doubles and a homer and Morgan Henry also hit two doubles and a four-bagger, as she went 3 for 3.

"We had some good production, especially out of the top of the lineup," Sehome (6-10, 5-5 NWC) coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview.

Mallorie Kruzich picked up her sixth win of the season, striking out seven in seven innings.

Meridian (4-11, 2-7 NWC) had eight hits in the game.

Sehome faces Nooksack Valley on Friday, May 9, at Frank Geri Fields. Meridian plays Lynden Christian on Thursday, May 8, on the road.
