Sehome ends season undefeated


Sehome's girls' tennis team finished its regular season with a breast cancer awareness day and a barbecue, while the Mariners topped Lynden 7-0 on Wednesday, May 7, at Sehome.

"It was a fun match today," Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. "It was a great way to end the season for both teams."

Francis Flinn and Paige Howter got to get in the lineup at No. 3 doubles in their final high school match, winning 6-0, 6-2.

Lauren Smith also impressed at No. 2 singles, defeating Katherine Haveman 6-0, 6-0.

"She controlled the match from the first point," Giller said.

Sehome finished the season undefeated, winning all 15 matches. Lynden finished 3-13.
