Red Raiders finish regular season with win

Bellingham's girls' tennis team finished its season with a 7-0 Northwest Conference win over Ferndale on Wednesday, May 7, at Bellingham.

"Ferndale's an up-and-coming team," Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said in a phone interview. "We competed great. We knew Ferndale had been playing well so we made sure we were ready to go."

Catie Welch and Ellie Iwersen defeated Carly Bannerman and Shelby Slaughter at No. 1 doubles in the closest match of the day.

"It was two good teams," Chronister said. "That was a good match to watch."

On another note, Bellingham's JV team finished the year 16-0, losing only four games all season while winning 108.
