"The Acheron," an Orwellian romp through the halls of Hades, written and directed by Glenn Apollo Hergenhan-Zhao, runs at 8 and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, May 9 through June 7, at iDiOM Theater, 1418 Cornwall Ave.

The play opens with a special preview performance Thursday, May 8.

The serial play is an iDiOM tradition: five weekends, with a new episode each weekend picking up from where the last one left off, not unlike a live TV mini-series. Each episode plays at both 8 and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and then the next weekend is a new episode, including a recap of the story so far.

Admission: $10. Details: idiomtheater.com.
