WWU's Hansen moves up to tie for 23rd at West Super Regional


Western Washington University women's golfer Kristen Hansen moved up five spots into a tie for 23rd at the NCAA Division II West Super Regional on Tuesday at the Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas.

The third and final round takes place Wednesday.

Hansen, a sophomore from Spokane, shot a 9-over par 81 for a two-round total of 163.

Hansen is among 48 golfers competing in the 54-hole tournament. The top three teams and the top three individuals not with an advancing team qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships on May 14-17 at Conover, N.C.

The medalist after 36 holes is Alyssa Smith from host St. Edward's.
