When the three-day, 54-hole regional ends, the top six teams advance to the national championships May 19-23.
The Vikings, who entered as the No. 6 seed in the West Region, shot 303 on Tuesday for a 36-hole total of 612.
Host St. Edward's is in the lead with 585 (294).
WWU's Mark Strickland is in a six-way tie for 22nd in medalist play at 148, just five shots off the lead, after shooting a second straight 2-over par 74.
The Vikings' Chris Hatch is in a four-way tie for 42nd at 151 (73) and Craig Crawford is in an eight-way tie for 48th at 153 (79).
