Red Raiders bid farewell to seniors

Bellingham's boys' soccer team ended the season with a smile, topping Ferndale 2-0 in a Northwest Conference game on Tuesday, May 6, at Ferndale.

The Red Raiders (8-4-4, 7-4-1 NWC) say goodbye to five seniors, two of which scored in the victory.

Senior defenders Noah Silverman and Lars Botterill both got second-half goals.

"It was a really fun game," Bellingham coach Matt Zigulis said in a phone interview. "We put all our seniors up top and it was good to see Lars and Noah get their first varsity goals."

Zigulis also gave credit to a hard-working Ferndale (0-15-1, 0-11-1) squad.

Bellingham's season is over. Ferndale's postseason is still in question as of press time.

Goal: Noah Silverman (Bellingham), assist Jack Lewis-Clark: time: 55; Goal: Lars Botterill (Bellingham), assist Keegan Nutt: time: 70.
