Lyncs shut out on the road by Sedro-Woolley

Lynden Christian's softball team fell to Sedro-Woolley 6-0 in a Northwest Conference game on Tuesday, May 6, at Janicki Fields.

Lexi Holleman was 1 for 3 for the Lyncs, and Allison Smit went 1 for 2.

"Their pitcher (Ashley Queen) did a great job of getting ahead of hitters," Lynden Christian coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. "We put the ball in play a lot, but they made good defensive plays."

Lynden Christian managed just four hits to the Cubs' nine. The Lyncs only gave up one error on defense.

"I was proud that we played an almost flawless game on defense," Moorlag added. "Livi Vander Griend had a great day at shortstop. She had a lot of ground balls come her way and handled them."

Lynden Christian takes on Meridian in a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at Lynden Christian Middle School.
