BELLINGHAM - Three local organizations are sponsoring a special theatrical screening of a new PBS-TV documentary later this month.
"Water Blues: Green Solutions" will be shown at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 19, at the Pickford Film Center, 1318 Bay St. A one-hour discussion follows the showing at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door or online at pickfordfilmcenter.org.
Discussion panelists include Kate Blystone, program director of RE Sources for Sustainable Communities; Carl Weimer, Whatcom County Council member; Randy Honcoop, raspberry farmer; Colleen Mitchell, civil engineer; and Robin Matthews, director of the Institute for Watershed Studies and a professor at Western Washington University's Huxley College of the Environment.
The local screening of the documentary - which is showing on PBS stations through 2014 - is sponsored by League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County; RE Sources for Sustainable Communities; and Sustainable Connections.
