Unhappy with retail gun sales

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 6, 2014

As a Fred Meyer regular I have been enduring the Bakerview makeover with patience. Today I got a shock. The makeover includes a full-scale gun sales department. An employee advised me that some Washington Fred Meyer stores have been the last holdouts. Further, this employee said that this is too lucrative to pass up -- worth millions in sales.

I believe this last is what the Second Amendment boosters led by the National Rifle Association don't talk about: It's all about money! All too often in America today everything from Supreme Court decisions like Citizens United or a successfully governing Congress give way to "It's all about money."

And now a family store like our very own Fred Meyer. Maybe they should have considered selling caskets and funeral wreaths for gun violence victims if the bottom line needed help.
