Lynden's boys' golf team took home the team and individual victory on Monday, May 5, at Avalon Golf Course. Ezra Arneson finished with a 73 to lead the shorthanded Lions, who were competing with only five golfers instead of the usual six.
"They competed hard," Lynden coach Russ Dorr said in a phone interview. "Arneson had a tremendous round in the conditions."
The course was setup tough for a collegiate event earlier in the day, Dorr said. Lynden's Alex Crabtree shot an 80 and Colin Barclay shot an 83 with four birdies.
Sedro-Woolley finished second, Burlington-Edison finished third, Meridian finished fourth, Anacortes fifth and Blaine took sixth.
Meridian's Jon Kihm led the Trojans with an 86 and Blaine's Devan boucher shot an 82 to lead the Borderties.
