Mount Baker softball falls at home

Mount Baker's softball team was outhit 11-5 and took a 9-1 loss to Sedro-Woolley on Friday, May 2, at home.

Baker's Emma Lallas went 1 for 2 with a triple and a run scored. Chyanne Ortloff went 1 for 3 with a double.

Aleks Toivola took the loss for the Mountaineers as the Cubs piled on six runs in the seventh innning.

"We made some mistakes behind her and that last inning it got away from us," Mount Baker coach Ron Lepper said in a phone inverview. "They weren't pounding the ball, they just found green grass."

Heidi Chambers was Mount Baker's only multi-hit batter, going 2 for 3.

Mount Baker takes on Blaine at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Pipeline Fields.
