Peterson's big game key in Storm win over Lyncs

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 1, 2014

Squalicum's boys' soccer team scored three first-half goals and took a 4-0 win over Lynden Christian on Thursday, May 1, at Civic Stadium.

Arne Peterson scored a goal and had two assists for the Storm. Christian Chala, North Bennett and Gabe Guidroz also scored for Squalicum.

"There was great chemistry tonight. They shared the ball and were imaginative and creative in their attack," Squalicum coach Joe McAuliffe said in a phone interview. "Arne had a wonderful night. He was directing things. He did a lot of the managing on the field. LC's Cody Fransen was dangerous on the attack; he's hard to deal with."

Trenton Langer took the shutout for the Storm, making two saves. Daulton Lootens made 15 saves for the Lyncs.

Squalicum's next game is at 6 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Anacortes. Lynden Christian takes on Friday Harbor at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Bender Fields.
