Berry, Miller shutout Storm

Blaine's softball team held Squalicum hitless through three innings and won 14-0 in five innings on Thursday, May 1, at Pipeline Fields.

Lyric Berry and Riley Miller combined for the shutout.

"They did a great job," Blaine coach Alisa Burk said in a phone interview.

Berry and Miller also contributed at the plate. Berry went 2 for 2 with two RBI and Miller had three hits with three RBI.

"We came into the day with an aggressive mentality. Everyone battled and contributed to the win," Burk said.

Squalicum had hits from Brittney Jorgenson and Amanda Chandler.

Blaine (10-5, 6-3 NWC) plays Burlington-Edison on Friday, May 2, on the road. Squalicum (0-15, 0-8 NWC) faces Ferndale on Tuesday, May 6, on the road.
