Keegan Nutt and Dane Thurston scored to lead the Bellingham boys' soccer team to a 2-0 Northwest Conference win over Nooksack Valley on Thursday, May 1, at Civic Stadium.

Nutt scored after Jack Lewis-Clark beat his defender to the touchline and found Nutt coming in behind the play for the goal.

"It was our senior night. ... We all had fun with it and it was good to get good goals," Bellingham coach Matt Zigulis said in a phone interview. "Nooksack played hard and showed good movement. Lars (Botterill) led the defense for us. It was good to get a shutout."

On Thurston's goal, Nick Bippley hurled a long throw-in into the box that bounced off a defender before Thurston took a shot on the volley.

Bellingham takes on Ferndale at 4 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Northwest Soccer Park. Nooksack Valley plays next in the district playoffs at a time to be determined.
