Snydar goes deep in Lynden win

The Lynden softball team defeated Lynden Christian 13-2 in a Northwest Conference matchup on Wednesday, April 30, at Lynden Christian.

Trisha Snydar led the way for the Lions, hitting her first home run and driving in three. Hannah Rothwell picked up her fifth win in the circle, tossing a complete game and allowing just six Lynden Christian hits.

"We put our leadoff runner on in a whole lot of the innings," Lynden coach Steve Petersen said in a phone interview. "They kept the pressure on the whole game. ... Much tougher game than the score indicates."

Livi and Lexi Vander Griend both drove in runs for the Lyncs, who had bases loaded in the final inning but were unable to add any more runs.

Elisa Kooiman had a strong day at the plate for Lynden, going 3 for 3 with three RBI.

Lynden Christian (7-6, NWC 2-5) is next in action against Friday Harbor on Saturday, May 3, while Lynden doesn't play until Monday, May 5, when it takes on Sehome.
