Red Raiders lose despite Carmichael's gem

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 30, 2014

Bellingham's baseball team lost a 1-0 pitchers' duel to Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference game on Wednesday, April 30, at Burlington-Edison.

Drew Larson threw a complete-game shutout for the Tigers, striking out 11 in the process.

"He was dealing today," Bellingham coach David Farrell said in a phone interview. "He was one of the better pitchers we've seen this year."

On the other side, Charlie Carmichael threw six innings and struck out seven.

"Out of three years I've had Charlie, that was the best pitching performance I've seen out of him," Farrell said. "Some days you play well but the other team plays just a little better."

Bellingham (8-10, 5-5 NWC) plays Nooksack Valley on Friday, May 2, at home.
