Gas prices top $4 a gallon in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM — The average price for a gallon of gas topped $4 a gallon in Bellingham for the first time this year, according to the latest data from AAA Washington.

The average price on Wednesday, April 30 was $4.01 in the Bellingham metro area. That’s up 5 cents from a week ago and 23 cents from a month ago. Last year at this time, the average price was $3.71 a gallon.

The record high average price for Bellingham was set in June 2008, at $4.50 a gallon.

Bellingham continues to have the highest average price among Washington metro areas. Seattle is next highest, at $3.95 a gallon. Spokane has the least expensive average, coming in at $3.58 a gallon.

The average price for a gallon of diesel in Bellingham was $4.05 on April 30, up 1 cent compared to a week ago.
