Farmworkers will march from Laurel to Bellingham on Sunday

The second annual Farmworker March for Dignity, led by local farmworkers, will start at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 4, at Abarrotes La Gloria Mexican market, 5974 Guide Meridian, in the Laurel area.

Community to Community Development is hosting the march, which is themed "Supporting Local Farmworkers, Local Economies, For a Just and Fair Food System."

Anyone can join the march at any time. The march also stops at noon at La Gloria Market, 4140 Meridian St., and at 1 p.m. at the Whatcom County Courthouse at Grand and Lottie streets in Bellingham.

The march concludes at Maritime Heritage Park, where there will be a community celebration.
