Zavisubin throws complete game, goes 3-3 in Sehome's win


Josh Zavisubin struck out eight batters in a complete game, and Sehome's baseball team squeezed out a 4-3 Northwest Conference win over Lynden on Monday, April 28, at home.

Zavisubin was also the offensive leader for the Mariners, going 3 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI.

"Anytime we play Lynden we seem to have a really good game," Sehome coach Gary Hatch said in a phone interview. "Josh pitched effectively wild. He pitched out of some trouble spots and showed a warrior-like mentality."

Kody Ames took the loss for the Lions, but pitched five innings and struck out three. He was also 1 for 3 with two RBI and a double.

Lynden takes on Blaine at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Pipeline Fields. Sehome plays at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Nooksack Valley.
