Butschli scores 3, Borderites win

Blaine's boys' soccer team cruised to a 7-1 victory over Friday Harbor on the back of Nick Butschli's hat trick on Monday, April 28, at Pipeline Fields.

David Shapiro kicked off the scoring for the Borderites in the 18th minute and Nick Butschli added one in the 24th to send Blaine to the lockers up 2-0.

"We played with a lot of intensity. We played hard from the beginning," Blaine coach Giovanni Quesada said in a phone interview. "We created a lot of opportunities. That makes me happy."

Shapiro struck again in the 58th minute, followed by two goals from Nick Butschli and a goal apiece from Colton Economy and Darren Economy.

"I gave some opportunities to JV players and they did good," Quesada said. "The kids had fun and moved the ball well."
