THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 28, 2014

Western Washington University outfielder Kaleigh Keating has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Softball co-Player of the Week for April 21-27.

Keating, a senior from Salinas, Calif., helped the Vikings won three of their last four regular-season games with seven hits in 16 at bats and no errors in 11 fielding chances. Among her hits were two doubles and a triple, and she had five runs batted in.

WWU, 30-12 overall, finished second in the GNAC regular-season standings at 17-7. That earned the Vikings the No. 2 seed at the GNAC Tournament which will be played this weekend at Richland. The winner of the double-elimination tourney earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II West Regional.
