Stralsers performing well at GNAC Multi-Events Championships

Western Washington University's Michael Stralser had three personal bests in five events and is sixth among 11 competitors in the decathlon after first-day action Monday at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Multi-Events Championships at Central Washington University.

Michael's sister, Emily, who had a personal best of 29-2 3/4 in the shot put, is eighth among 10 participants in the heptathlon.

Michael Stralser has 3,155 points in the decathlon, running the 100 meters in 11.54, posting marks of 19-4 in the long jump, 36-2 in the shot put, and 5-8 in the high jump, and completing the 400 in 51.84. The efforts in the shot put, high jump and 400 were all personal records.

Emily Stralser has 2,232 points in the heptathlon. Besides her effort in the shot put, she ran the 100 hurdles in 16.34, cleared 4-6 in the high jump and had a 28.14 clocking in the 200.
