Sudden Valley man in satisfactory condition after crash on I-5


FERNDALE - A Sudden Valley man who was seriously injured when his vehicle rolled on Interstate 5 Saturday, April 26, was in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Monday.

Odin J. Barnett, 19, tried to illegally pass two cars on the left shoulder near Portal Way about noon Saturday. He lost control and rolled the 1996 Range Rover several times, Trooper Mark Francis said. He was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled into the median.

During the crash, about half a pound of marijuana was strewn across the freeway along with other items from the vehicle, Francis said.

Washington State Patrol is still investigating, and charges are pending.
