Miscues doom Bellingham in loss to Sehome

Sehome’s softball team scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take a 13-2 Northwest Conference win in five innings over Bellingham on Friday, April 25, at Bellingham.

Gabby Gorosave was 2 for 4 with two RBI for the Mariners. Maddy Bryan and Rebekah Miksovsky each added a double and an RBI.

Bellingham’s Lindsey Richard and Justina Allen both went 1 for 2 with an RBI. The Red Raiders held Sehome to just two runs in the second, third and fourth innings.

“This game just goes to show how close we’re getting,” Bellingham coach Rick Ellis said in a phone interview. “The first four runs they got were all unearned due to errors on routine plays. They would have been down 1-2-3 in the first if we hadn’t made the first error.”

Bellingham takes on Sedro-Woolley at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Janicki Fields. Sehome hosts Archbishop Murphy at 4 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Frank Geri Fields.
