Lynden baseball holds off Cedarcrest

Lynden's baseball team overcame allowing five runs in the first inning to take a 7-6 non-conference win over Cedarcrest on Wednesday, April 23, at home.

Lucas Petersen led the Lions offense, going 3 for 4 with two runs scored, three stolen bases and three RBI. Kody Ames went 1 for 2 with a double and two RBI, and Tristan Blaske was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.

"We got down early and said, 'Let's make this a bunch of one-inning games and try to win each one,'" Lynden coach Cory White said in a phone interview. "I was proud of how they scratched back."

Lynden takes on Lynden Christian at 4 p.m. Friday, April 25, at home.
