Squalicum's Stealy stars again

Squalicum's baseball team went it's seventh game of the season without an error and beat Nooksack Valley 8-2 in a Northwest Conference game on Wednesday, April 23, at Nooksack.

The Storm capitalized on five Nooksack Valley errors to put up three multiple-run innings. Nooksack's Noah Rawls pitched well despite taking the loss, Squalicum coach John Inge said in a phone interview.

"He did a nice job," Inge said. "He's going to be a terrific pitcher."

In the Squalicum dugout was David Stealy, who picked up his fifth win of the season, while striking out seven.

"It's just another day at the office for David," Inge said. "He's a money pitcher."

Squalicum (11-3-1, 6-1 NWC) plays Blaine on Friday, April 25, at home. Nooksack (6-7, 2-5 NWC) faces Burlington-Edison on Friday on the road.
