LC's Van Kooten breaks school record

Lynden Christian's Morgan Van Kooten won the shot put with a 45-foot, 2-inch throw, breaking the LC record of 42-10 set in 1988, as the Lyncs hosted the Lynden Christian Invitational on Tuesday, April 22, at Lynden Christian High School.

Hannah Wynstra won the other two throwing events for the Lyncs, with a 91-05 in the discus and a 115-05 in the javelin.

Madison Weg won the high jump with a height of 5-02, and was a part of the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. Emily Sytsma and Brianna Bruneau were on both of the winning relay teams as well. Madison Burke was also on the 4x100 team, and Brandy Bruneau rounded out the 4x400 team.

Lynden Christian will participate in the Northwest Conference Championships on Friday, April 25, at Civic Stadium.
