Alumnus unhappy with WWU president

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 22, 2014

I am extremely disappointed in WWU President Bruce Shepard and his continued insistence that WWU fails as a public state college because there are too many white students on campus. President Shepard has made it his goal to increase diversity in the student body, and apparently one easy way to do that is to reduce the number of whites in attendance through what I believe to be ignorant, reverse racism. How does it benefit our community to make statements which alienate and degrade the majority? I suggest if he feels there are too many white people at WWU, he should start the exodus by resigning himself. As an alumnus of WWU, it saddens me to be discontinuing my financial support, but I feel it is necessary in this circumstance.
