Lynden softball beats Squalicum in three innings


Lynden's softball team shut out Squalicum in a 23-0 win in three innings on Monday, April 21, at Squalicum.

Hannah Rothwell got the win for the Lions, allowing just one hit.

"Hannah did a good job of throwing strikes and letting the defense work," Lynden assistant coach Julie Clift said in a phone interview. "It was nice to see our girls come out and hit the ball. It was great for them to cut loose."

Hailey Linville got the lone hit for the Storm.

Tanna Benson went 3 for 4 with a home run for Lynden.

Squalicum looks to bounce back at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at home against Bellingham. Lynden hosts Nooksack Valley at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at home.
