Meridian's second half goal doesn't hold up

Meridian's boys' soccer team allowed two late goals and fell to Anacortes 3-1 in a Northwest Conference game on Monday, April 21, at Anacortes.

The Cubs started off quickly with a Ryan Burton goal in the third minute.

It took Meridian until the 60th minute to even it up on a goal from Sergio Ortiz.

A minute later, Gunner Ronngren put the Cubs up. Burton added another in the 80th minute to seal the victory.

Anacortes took four shots on goal, while Meridian had three.

Meridian (2-10-0, 1-7-0 NWC) plays Ferndale on Wednesday, April 23, on the road.
