Fransen scores twice for LC boys' soccer


Cody Fransen netted two goals and the Lynden Christian boys' soccer team took a 2-0 Northwest Conference win over Ferndale on Monday, April 21, at home.

Fransen's first goal was unassisted in the 31st minute, and Trevor Kamena assisted on his second goal just four minutes later.

"Trevor perfectly bounced the ball between a bunch of defenders," Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. "Cody was able to get a foot on it and he placed it perfectly past the keeper."

The Lyncs' Daulton Lootens only had to make two saves to earn the shutout.

Lynden Christian takes on Lynden on Wednesday, April 23, in an away game at Bender Fields.
