Lummi baseball wins slugfest

Lummi's baseball team used a seven-run seventh to defeat Shoreline Christian 27-20 on Monday, April 21, at Shoreline Christian.

James Lawrence got the win for the Blackhawks and helped his own cause on offense, going 4 for 6 with two doubles.

Leo Scarborough was 4 for 6 with a home run and four RBI for Lummi, and Hank Hoskins was 5 for 5 with six RBI and three stolen bases. Lummi coach Jim Sandusky was thrilled with the offense, he said in a phone interview.

Enrique Medina went 4 for 6 with four stolen bases for the Blackhawks.

Lummi takes on Lopez in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 22, at Lopez.
