Bauthues throws complete game shutout in Ferndale win

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 21, 2014

Brady Bauthues pitched five innings of shutout baseball and Ferndale's baseball team won 10-0 over Nooksack Valley in a Northwest Conference game on Monday, April 21, at Ferndale.

Bauthues struck out three for his second win of the year.

"It was just a typical Brady Bauthues-fashioned game," Ferndale coach Donny Hennigs said in a phone interview. "We played defense behind him. We did what we needed."

Ferndale scored six runs in the third inning to extend its lead to seven. Brady Shearer and Pete Pennylegion each had two-out two-RBI singles.

"We got guys on and took advantage," Hennigs said.

Ferndale (8-6, 5-2 NWC) faces Lynden Christian on Wednesday, April 23, on the road. Nooksack (7-6, 2-4 NWC) plays Squalicum on Wednesday at home.
