Storm holds off Sedro-Woolley

Squalicum's baseball team scored five runs in the second inning and held off a late offensive surge by Sedro-Woolley to capture a 5-4 Northwest Conference victory on Monday, April 21, at home.

Harper Moore earned the win for the Storm, pitching 5 1/3 innings, striking out five and walking five. He allowed just four hits and three runs.

"Harper pitched his butt off against a good team," Squalicum coach John Inge said in a phone interview. "He threw 103 pitches. It was a gutty effort. He had to pitch out of a couple of jams and pitched around a couple of hitters."

Landon Tripp went 2 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI for the Storm. Ben Tripp was 3 for 3 with an RBI.

"The Tripp brothers had a great day at the plate," Inge said. "They both had some really clutch hits."

Squalicum takes on Meridian at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at home.
