Olsen has strong run at Boston Marathon


Former Squalicum and Western Washington University runner Courtney Olsen finished 57th in her division at the 2014 Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21.

Olsen turned in a time of 2 hours, 52 minutes, 37 seconds on the historic 26.2-mile course to finish 1,199th overall. She was the 66th women to finish and was 57th in her division.

Bellingham's Erika Lombardi was the only other Whatcom County runner to place in the top 100 in her division, as the 46-year old was 84th and 7,415th overall with a time of 3:23:40.

Seven of the 11 country runners to complete the race did so in less than four hours, as Acme's Sierra Brisky, Bellingham's Dwight Baker, John Viechnicki, Bridget Knutson and Melissa McCreery all joined Olsen and Lombardi.
