Trojans come out flat, lose to Friday Harbor

Meridian's baseball team couldn't keep up with Friday Harbor, as the Trojans fell 7-0 on Saturday, April 19, at Meridian.

Friday Harbor scored five runs in the first two innings.

"In a nutshell, we didn't come ready to pitch. We didn't come to hit. We made a season-high five errors," Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. "Not to take away from Friday Harbor, they came out and swung it."

The loss leaves Meridian reeling, looking for a solution.

"We need to find some answer quick," Slesk said.

Meridian (5-6-0, 1-3 NWC) plays Blaine on Monday, April 21, at home.
