Pittis, Dolese lead Mariners to fifth-place finish at Larry Eason Invite


Led by winning performances from Emily Pittis and Sarah Dolese, the Sehome girls' track and field team placed fifth at the talent-rich Larry Eason Invite on Saturday, April 19, at Snohomish High School.

Arlington and Skyline tied for first with 80 points, Sehome recorded 44 points, Squalicum finished 10th with 26, Meridian was 21st with 12, Blaine was 25th with seven points and Mount Baker took 27th with five points.

Dolese won the 100 meter with a time of 12.66 seconds, while Pittis won the 3,200 with a time of 10:58.73. Squalicum pole vaulter Kirsten Weber was the only other Whatcom County athlete to win an event. She cleared a height of 12 feet, 6 inches.

Other top performers Sehome performers were Dana Ringler, who took fourth in 400 with a 61.06, Katrina Dank, who finished fourth in the 300 hurdles with a 48.66 and Chanelle Eddy, who took fourth in the shot put with a mark of 35-6.5.

Squalicum's Allie Kohr took second in the 100 hurdles with a 15.73, Storm pole vaulter Madi Krussow took second with a height of 12-0 and Blaine's Olivia Adams finished third in the vault with a height of 11-0.
