Porter stars in Pasco

Alyssa Porter finished third in the 100 meters and Bellingham's girls' track and field team finished 20th at the Pasco Invitational on Saturday, April 19.

"We wanted to move up our stat sheet, that's what we were aiming for," Bellingham coach Bill McClement said in a phone interview.

Porter's third place finish was one of two third-place finishes for Bellingham. The other was the 4x100 relay team, which Porter competes on.

Other top-10 finishers included Bellingham's 4x400 relay team and Elle Kindlund in the pole vault.

Mia Hodges (400 meter), Leah Veldhuisen (1,600) and Annie Waddell (100 hurdles) finished in the top 20 of their events.
