Meridian's softball team stormed past Squalicum 17-5 in five innings on Friday, April 18, at Meridian High School.

The Trojans bats combined for 15 hits in the game, including three from Bailey Haugen, who added four RBI.

"We're starting to figure it out, starting to hit the ball well," Meridian coach Jordan Chambers said in a phone interview. "We weren't sure whether Bailey Haugen would even play and she went out and had the best game of the year for herself."

Emma Weg picked up the win for Meridian.

"Emma pitched well today. She started throwing strikes," Chambers said. "Squalicum is a much improved team from the first time we played them."
