Pioneers blank Friday Harbor

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 18, 2014

David Flores netted the only goal to lead Nooksack Valley's boys' soccer team to a 1-0 win over Friday Harbor on Friday, April 18, at Nooksack Valley Elementary.

Flores scored when Will Kingma made a long throw-in all the way into the box for Flores to head into the goal.

Nooksack Valley coach Valentin Villalobos moved his players into an attacking formation, but the Pioneers still held Friday Harbor to just four shots.

"I've been trying to put more pressure up top," Villalobos said in a phone interview. "This time I was trying some JV players and David Flores is one of those who has picked it up at forward."

Nooksack Valley hosts Squalicum at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Nooksack Valley Elementary.
