Anderson's pitching carries Mariners over Baker

Sehome baseball's Leif Anderson gave up just one run and three hits, and his team defeated Mount Baker 8-1 on Friday, April 18, at home. Anderson also struck out four and didn't give up a walk.

"It was a gem of a pitching job by Leif," Sehome coach Gary Hatch said in a phone interview. "He was in total control, mixed his pitching well and used his change-up well for a change."

Carson Schmidt was 2 for 3 with a double for the Mountaineers.

Josh Zavisubin was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI for the Mariners. Drew Lomsdalen went 2 for 4 with three RBI.

Sehome plays at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Ferndale. Mount Baker's next game is at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Nooksack Valley.
