A 3-year-old boy who was struck by a semi truck as he crossed the street in Everson Saturday, April 12, was upgraded to serious condition in the hospital nearly a week later.
Cesar Camacho remained in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Friday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
The boy was hit by the westbound semi around 5:20 p.m. Saturday where Everson Road turns into Kale Street, according to Washington State Patrol.
He was running across the street from his grandmother toward his mother when the semi, hauling a load of plywood, struck and injured him. He was taken to St. Joseph hospital with critical injuries then transferred to Harborview.
There were no indications the driver, Parminder Rangdhu, 44, of Abbotsford, B.C., was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No criminal charges are expected.
